Just read an article in our surprisingly-good yokel paper, The State, about politicians and their body language. The part that stood out was their discussion of Guiliani's "sneer" as he turns to Romney, and even better, the fact that Romney smiles FOR FIFTEEN SECONDS A POP! It said I quote: NO ONE SMILES THAT LONG. IT'S WEIRD!! Which explains beyond the indecisiveness and the Mormonism why so many people have a problem with this guy, including me. The first word that comes to mind when I see him: smarm. Also, anyone see Huckabee's Merry Christmas ad on tv? "What matters is the birth of christ, and spending time with family and friends." Pandering at its finest. I have to say--I'm impressed. Speaking of smiles and panders, I've also heard that less-muscular men and less-sexy women tend to smile more often in order to ingratiate themselves. Which perhaps makes Romney's smile, coming from a good-looking guy, so very disconcerting.
